FairGO’s Votergram service gives near miraculous power to Australians. That power is given to those who care about Australia’s future and its people. That includes themselves, their families, neighbours, colleagues and others. So many Australians are currently battling the government bureaucracy and public service, begging it to do what this nation and they themselves need.
But they are talking to the wrong people in the wrong way and often at the wrong time.

These extraordinary powers are for those who dare to challenge what the government is doing or plans to do. Many are afraid to challenge government. I was too, 40 years ago when, with my family, I came up with a plan to give power to the people. I was so worried that I thought government might have a go at me. None threatened me or attacked me! I realise now that I was not that important to them. What I learned was that by taking my complaints and suggestions to every Member of Parliament, they were happy to do what I was asking. The MPs wanted to do what was good for the community. Some actually thanked me for bring them the views from outside their own electorates and political parties. When you dare to share your views with these, the most powerful people in the country, you are helping them to govern wisely.

It was the clever idea for the Votergram service to help people to share their views with each and every one of the MPs they had elected to represent them in Parliament. By contacting everyone, they reached those interested in their issue. Not every MP was interested in every issue.
It also meant they could win over a majority of the interested MPs. It could never be good enough just going to the person’s local MP or the minister. They were just two people in the Federal Parliament who could easily be out-voted by the other 224 MPs there. Majority opinion determines pretty much everything in parliament, just like in any organisation’s annual General Meeting.
When you care enough to act; dare enough to speak up quietly and in the privacy of Parliament without any grandstanding; when you share your desires with every MP, you vastly increase your chance of getting what you want.
